Q: What is a leg lift?
A: Gravity is a very strong force on this planet. As we age, it affects our legs too. It is not just women who have lost significant amounts of weight who complain about the loose skin on their legs. As we get older, the skin tone in our legs decreases and tends to sag. The skin of the inner thigh tends to lose tone fastest. There are basically two surgical procedures involved in a leg lift. The short scar lift removes some skin of the thigh and leaves a scar hidden within the natural creases of the groin. The longer lift removes more skin, but the scar is more visible and placed vertically on the inside of the thigh. In both procedures the soft tissue of the inner thigh is suspended to a ligament in the groin. This gives the procedure longevity as it protects against further sagging. As with all plastic surgery procedures, it is important to consult with an experienced plastic surgeon to determine which procedure may be right for you.
