Q: I’ve been seeing the some stylist for a while, and I really want a new look. My hairstylist seems to give me the same cut again and again even though I’ve asked for something different. What can I do?
A: It’s hard sometimes to see someone differently once you’ve gotten to know them. Your look can become habitual, especially if it suits you well. Are you leaving this transformation completely up to your stylist? Perhaps take in some pictures of styles you like: different lengths of bang, shapes and layers, etc., so you can come up with something together.
Also, are you asking for a change but saying no to every suggestion made because you’re scared to make the change — really? — therefore making your stylist apprehensive to do a cut you don’t like? I’m sure they don’t want to lose you as a client.
