EngenderHealth
EngenderHealth is the leading international reproductive health organization working to improve the quality of health care in the world’s poorest communities. We work in partnership with governments, institutions, communities, and health care providers to engender health, hope, and opportunity for those who need it most.
In Africa, Asia, and Latin America, we empower people to make informed choices about contraception, train health providers to help millions of women give birth safely to healthy babies, ensure access to prevention and care for HIV and AIDS, and advocate for policy change. To date, we have reached more than 100 million people worldwide.
We have made remarkable progress; yet, right now 350 million couples lack access to effective and affordable family planning, every minute a woman dies from a complication of childbirth or pregnancy, and every day 15,000 more people are infected with HIV. These numbers will only grow as the population surges in some of the most impoverished places on Earth.
But, as more and more people suffer from inadequate health care, EngenderHealth continues to lead the world in finding solutions to create lasting, meaningful change. With the help of our supporters, and the tireless efforts of our staff around the world, we will continue to bring access to quality health care to those whose lives are depending on us.
