Move America Forward
Move America Forward (MAF) is a non-partisan, non-profit, charitable organization co-founded in 2004 by Melanie Morgan a talk show host from San Francisco. MAF is committed to supporting America’s brave troops and their missions to keep America safe, secure, and free. We believe our armed forces are our greatest security asset, and furthermore deserve our utmost respect and admiration. MAF has organized several national tours to support the troops with rallies in cities across the country and produced broadcast ad campaigns to build support for our troops and raise money to send them care packages to support the troops. In 2006 MAF took a group of Gold Star Families – who have lost sons or daughters in the war – to Iraq where they saw the progress made and met with Iraqi government officials to receive their appreciation for their sacrifices. In 2007 MAF organized another trip to Iraq to deliver Christmas and Holiday cards to troops in Baghdad. MAF collected and sent over 225,000 holiday greeting cards for the troops in 2007. These trips inform the public of the great work our troops are doing and bring our message of support directly to those who deserve it! In 2008 MAF organized the unprecedented internet telethon, “From the Front Lines”. Working with celebrities and stars of television, radio and print media, as well as popular internet bloggers, and the cutting edge company UStream.TV, MAF raised over $1.5 million to send care packages to the troops filled with delicious goodies and personal comfort items. It took almost 2 months to ship all the care packages sponsored, which exceeded 12,000 packages. MAF has shipped over 100 tons of packages to the troops since it started the program 2006.
